Ocean Bites is a family-owned and operated restaurant founded by Oleh and Liudmyla, a couple who immigrated to Canada from Ukraine. Together they bring over 14 years of culinary experience to the table — a passion deeply rooted in their love for quality food, craftsmanship, and warm hospitality.
After making Winnipeg their home, Oleh and Liudmyla saw an opportunity to bring something fresh and genuine to the downtown dining scene. They launched Ocean Bites at 61 Albert Street, in the heart of the city's vibrant Exchange District, as an expression of their culinary identity — a place that makes high-quality sushi, sushi rolls, and Japanese-inspired food accessible to every Winnipegger.
Their story resonates with the Winnipeg community: an immigrant family pouring their expertise and love into every dish, and building something special in a new country.
